A space for gatherings and socialising – a focal point where guests come together in the afternoon and linger late into the night. An intimate atmosphere, a rich natural colour palette, and tactile materials create a sense of seclusion from the outside world.
DESIGNED FOR SOCIAL FLOW
The interior combines the functions of a bar and a lounge with open seating. Armchairs and sofas are arranged to accommodate both larger groups and more private gatherings. Adjacent to the bar are two built-in wall humidors – professional units designed for storing and ageing cigars under precise temperature and humidity control.
TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION
Large ceiling fans rotate slowly, setting a relaxed, almost meditative rhythm. The model was custom-designed for the project – its construction combines machined elements with bespoke components 3D-printed from flexible plastic. The fans merge artisanal craftsmanship with engineering precision. Their blades are made of rush – a material specially harvested from marshlands, then dried and handwoven. Each blade consists of two woven elements, each spanning 2 metres.
INTIMACY AND WARMTH
The lighting is subdued and carefully controlled. It filters through horizontal blinds or enters through a round, porthole-like opening, offering a partial view of the fir tree canopies covering the mountains surrounding the hotel. This interplay of light enhances the sense of a sheltered, intimate environment. A wood-burning fireplace serves as an additional focal point, adding warmth and depth to the space.
“A cigar room is a place to shut out the outside hustle and focus on one’s inner state and meaningful conversation. Focus, slowing down, and immersing oneself in thought through contact with tactile surfaces – this is the atmosphere we set out to create,” says Volodymyr Nepiyvoda, co-owner and managing partner of YOD Group.
