Apartment Buildings / VLASNE MISTO

Project: Apartment Buildings

Location: Vlasne Misto, Kyiv Oblast´

Team: Volodymyr Nepyivoda, Dmytro Dudchenko

Five-storey apartment buildings, designed by YOD Group for Vlasne Misto, are organically integrated into the overall master plan of the territory, developed in collaboration with Kudin Architects. The block-style development creates a comfortable and safe environment for residents and supports different lifestyles and activities within the community.

While working on this project, the architects considered not only the buildings themselves but also the surrounding public spaces — so that every resident could naturally use them and feel a sense of belonging to the community.

BELONGING

SPATIAL LOGIC

Structurally, the buildings are designed as a block system with two openings, which helps avoid a feeling of enclosure and allows for more natural light and a greater sense of space. The ground floor is raised above street level, making it possible to provide a sufficient number of underground parking spaces. The courtyard is designed for both relaxation and active leisure, featuring BBQ and sports areas. The ground floors are also adapted for commercial use, with panoramic storefront windows and space for outdoor café terraces.

PRIVACY AND SPACE

Special attention was paid to apartment layouts: their configuration changes from floor to floor, with no two layouts repeating. The upper floors are occupied by penthouses with spacious open-plan living areas and fireplaces — living spaces that combine privacy with a sense of openness.

The main materials used in this project are clinker brick and Corten steel. They were chosen not only for their functional benefits — energy efficiency and durability — but also for the aesthetic idea of contrast. The combination of the warm, tactile surface of brick with the distinctive urban texture of metal creates an architectural identity in which a sense of comfort meets modern architectural expression.
